Difference between servo motor and stepping motor

1. How to select stepping motor and AC servo motor?

The key depends on the actual application. In short, it should be clear: load characteristics (such as horizontal or vertical load), torque, inertia, speed ratio, precision, acceleration and deceleration, on-board operation regulations (such as the regulations on port number page and communication level), and whether the key operation method is position, torque or speed method. Whether the power supply is DC or AC power supply, or battery power supply, voltage range. The above is to specify the model and specification of the motor and applicable controller or control board.

2. Choose servo motor or AC servo motor system software?

I think the selection of which motors should be based on the actual application situation, all of which have their own characteristics.

3. How to apply servo motor controller?

According to the current of the motor, the controller exceeding or equivalent to this current flow is applicable. If low vibration or high precision is required, it can be equipped with subdivision driver. For large torque motors, try to use high working voltage controller to obtain excellent high-speed characteristics.

4. What is the difference between 2-phase and 5-phase servo motors? How to choose?

The cost of 2-phase motor is low, but the vibration is large at low speed and the torque decreases quickly at high speed. 5-phase motor has small vibration and good high-speed characteristics, which is 30 ~ 50% higher than that of 2-phase motor, and can replace AC servo motor in some places.

5. When to use AC motor speed regulation system software, and what is the difference between it and AC servo motor?

DC servo motor is divided into brushless motor and brushless motor. Brushless DC motor has the advantages of low cost, simple structure, large starting torque, wide speed regulation level and easy control. It must be maintained. However, the maintenance is convenient and fast (changing the motor carbon brush), which leads to electromagnetic interference and has requirements for the geographical environment. Therefore, it can be used in general industrial production and civil sites that are particularly sensitive to the direct cost. Brushless DC motor has the advantages of light weight, light weight, large load rate, no fast response, high speed, small inertia, smooth rotation and stable torque. The operation is complicated, it is very easy to maintain the intelligent system, and its electronic device commutation method is flexible, which can be square wave commutation or sine wave commutation. The motor is maintenance free, with high efficiency, low operating temperature, small electromagnetic radiation and long service life. It can be used in a variety of natural environments. DC servo motors are DC brushless motors, which are divided into synchronous motors and asynchronous motors. At this stage, synchronous motors are usually used in servo control systems. Its output power range is large and can ensure very large output power. Large inertia, low rotational speed, and rapidly decreases with the increase of power, so it is suitable for the stable operation of low gear.

6. What should we pay attention to when using the motor?

Check before power on operation: 1) whether the working voltage of switching power supply is suitable (overvoltage will likely lead to the destruction of driver control module); The + / - optical rotation of DC keying must not be wrongly connected, and whether the motor model or current preset value on the driver control board is suitable (it does not need to be very large at the beginning); 2) The control power line shall be firmly connected, and the problem of shielding off shall be considered on the spot of industrial production (such as selecting twisted pair); 3) It is not necessary to connect all the wires that must be connected at the beginning. Only the most basic system software is connected. After the operation is excellent, it can be connected gradually; 4) Be sure to find out the grounding method or floating non grounding. 5) During the 30 minutes of operation, it is necessary to closely observe the motor, such as whether all fitness activities are normal, sound and temperature conditions. If you find any problems, shut down and adjust immediately.

7. When the servo motor starts operation, sometimes it doesn't move after moving, or it doesn't move in place, and sometimes it will lose step during operation. What's the problem?

Generally, the following aspects should be considered for inspection: 1) whether the motor torque is large enough and whether it can promote the load. Therefore, it is generally strongly recommended that customers use a motor with a torque 50% ~ 100% larger than the specific torque when selecting the motor. Because the servo motor can not operate under overload, it can be regarded as a moment, which leads to out of step. When it is more serious, it stops or keeps moving in place; 2) Whether the single pulse current from the upper control board is large enough (usually & gt; 10mA) to make the optocoupler turn on and off smoothly, and whether the input frequency is too high, resulting in unacceptable. If the output power circuit of the upper control board is a CMOS power circuit, a CMOS input controller should also be used; 3) Whether the starting frequency is too high, whether the whole process of acceleration is set in the starting procedure flow, from the starting frequency required by the motor to the set frequency, even if the acceleration time is very short, otherwise it will be unstable and even in the idle state; 4) When it is better that the motor is not fixed, this situation sometimes occurs, which belongs to normal. Because, in fact, the strong resonance of the motor is caused at this time, resulting in the out of step state. The motor must be fixed; 5) For 5-phase motor, if the phase is connected incorrectly, the motor cannot work.

8. I want to operate the AC servo motor immediately according to the communication method, OK?

Yes, it's also more convenient. It's just a speed problem, which is used for the application with low response time. If there is no response to the main parameters quickly, the servo motor motion control card is used. Usually, it has DSP and high-speed logic to solve the power supply circuit, so as to maintain a high-speed and high-precision servo control system. Such as s acceleration, multi axis interpolation, etc.

9. How about using power transformer to supply power to stepping motor and DC brushless motor system software?

Generally do not, especially for high torque motors, unless a switching power supply with more than twice the required power is selected. Because, when the motor works, it is a large inductive load, which will form an instantaneous high voltage on the power end. The load characteristics of the power transformer are not very good, it will be closed for maintenance, and its high-precision regulator characteristics are not used, which will sometimes lead to the destruction of the power transformer and controller. Conventional ring or R-type transformer can be used to transform the DC power supply.

10. I want to use ± 10V or 4 ~ 20mA AC voltage to operate the servo motor, OK?

Yes, but it must be another conversion control module.
